Poster McLaren M23 - James Hunt - Japan - Japanese GP - 1976. Before the last round of the World Championship, James Hunt was three points behind Niki Lauda. Contested in torrential rain, the race will be marked by many twists and turns. At the end of the second lap Lauda, still marked by his terrible accident at the Nüburgring, voluntarily gave up to denounce the safety conditions. James Hunt, in search of his first coronation, easily dominates this race despite the rain. But on the last lap, he punctured and had to start a crazy comeback. At the finish, not knowing in what position he finished the race, he almost attacked his sports director Teddy Mayer, before being told that he had managed to climb to third place, synonymous with the coronation !
