The Porsche Gmünd - Silver - 24h Le Mans - 1951 poster features the 356 Gmünd considered the mother of all Porsches! The birth of this legend dates back to 1948 in Gmünd, Austria, where around 50 cars were built. By the early 1950s, the 356 had gained quite a reputation among enthusiasts. Not least thanks to its aerodynamics, handling and excellent build quality. It was therefore entered in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1951 and driven by the French duo Auguste Veuillet and Edmond Mouche. Despite difficult racing conditions, the number 46 finished without a hitch, crossing the finish line in 20th place overall and first in the 751-1100cc class.
